Sister X and her lover, Bruce The Nuns of the Above
Over the years, the Order has lost many Sisters, Saints and friends. Although we are saddened by their passing, we cherish the blessing of their presence and are inspired by the work they did while with us. Those who we remember in our hearts are never truly gone.

This page serves as a reminder of those who went before. May they continue to bless and inspire our work.

The Sisters' Panels on the AIDS Quilt
It's hard to imagine how many people have died over the last two decades of the AIDS epidemic. The number is so large (in the hundreds of thousands), that sometimes it sounds more like a statistic than a real human tragedy. It takes something personal to remind of us of how many we have lost.

As with so many communities, the Sisters have lost many Sisters, Saints and friends. To memorialize those who have moved upward, we created a series of quilt panels. Each sunbeam represents one nun or saint who has died. Each sunbeam represents a loss to our Order, our community, and our world.

The AIDS epidemic isn't over, and as a community we have much work to do.
