The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence® is a leading-edge Order of queer nuns. Since our first appearance in San Francisco on Easter Sunday, 1979, the Sisters have devoted ourselves to community service, ministry and outreach to those on the edges, and to promoting human rights, respect for diversity and spiritual enlightenment. We believe all people have a right to express their unique joy and beauty and we use humor and irreverent wit to expose the forces of bigotry, complacency and guilt that chain the human spirit.
Use our secured method to leave us a tax-deductible donation so that we can further our vows to spread universal joy and expiate stigmatic guilt by providing grants to nonprofits that promote wellness, identity, tolerance and diversity in our communities.

Inspiration
My first experience with the Sisters was in 2004 as I was walking by a bar called the Edge and spoke with two visions of beauty calling themselves Sister Constance Craving and Sister Gina Tonic. I was really impressed with their manifestations and ministry. I had not known that the Sisters were so community oriented so I was really impressed with their mission.
For a year or so after that while focusing on getting my career successful I met my partner on Match dot com. I was attempting to win a place on the Bare Chest Calendar and let him know that this was coming and wanted to know how he felt about it. Well turns out he said that he actually spends a lot of time at the Powerhouse where the contest is held but that he usually there as a Sister of Perpetual Indulgence and was that ok with me?...OK? It was a score in my book as I'd had my eye on the Sisters for a while at that point and was really impressed with their work.
2005 turned out to be a busy year for us as I did win a place on the Bare Chest Calendar becoming Mr. May with Sister Barbi attending all of my events while I also attended all of his Sister events. Watching sister Barbi in action inspired me even more to become a Sister after 2005 was over so later in 2007 I began the process to join the Order.
